Canada manufacturing preview
Canada manufacturing preview: analysts expect factory shipments, due Wednesday, to reveal a 1.5% gain in March after the 1.9% rise in February. Our projection is driven by 3.7% surge in export values during March. Of course, exports do not always move in-line with manufacturing during a given month, but moves in exports often translate to a move in the same direction for factory shipments. Also, transport issues in the West were partly resolved in February and March, supportive of further gains in shipment values. Further expansion in manufacturing shipments would track expectations for further expansion in GDP during March after the drop in January (February grew 0.4%). View the preview.
