Overweight
Facebook price target raised to $226 from $190 at Barclays
Barclays analyst Ross Sandler maintained an Overweight rating on Facebook and raised his price target to $226 from $190, telling investors that he sees an in-line Q2 with high expectations into the print, which he believes is largely priced in. Looking ahead, Sandler says the narrative around Stories ads could be a catalyst this year and beyond, and that Q2 should see MAU and DAU "leakage" in Europe from GDPR, which he views as a non-event, but could weigh on shares in the short-term.

Underweight
Twitter valuation 'the primary factor that gives us pause,' says Barclays
Barclays analyst Ross Sandler maintained an Underweight rating and $24 price target on Twitter (TWTR) ahead of its quarterly earnings, telling investors in a research note that while he thinks the company will report "solid" revenue and EBITDA, the company, like Facebook (FB) and Snap (SNAP), will have issues with MAU around GDPR and account clean up. However, he says the company is executing well on its turnaround, checks are pointing to advertisers allocating more to Twitter, which should support mid-20%s O+O ad revenue growth, and says valuation remains the major factor "that gives us pause."

Buy
Facebook price target raised to $240 from $215 at Jefferies
Jefferies analyst Brent Thill raised his price target for Facebook (FB) shares to $240 from $215 ahead of the Q2 reporting season for the Internet space. The social media giant closed yesterday up 2% to $206.98. Amazon.com (AMZN), Facebook and Google (GOOGL) are the analyst's top large-cap picks into the earnings season. Expedia (EXPE) is Thill's top value play while IAC (IAC) and GoDaddy (GDDY) are his favorite names among smaller caps. Facebook continues to be the best return on investment for advertisers as Instagram shows continued strength and more ad opportunities are being added, Thill tells investors in a research note on the Internet space. He sees earnings per share of $10-plus "on the horizon." A 25-30 times multiple off that yields a stock price of $250-$300 for Facebook, the analyst points out. Thill keeps a Buy rating on the name.

Outperform
Facebook price target raised to $265 from $240 at Credit Suisse
Credit Suisse analyst Stephen Ju raised his price target for Facebook to $265 from $240 following favorable checks with advertisers. Similar to the feedback last quarter, the analyst's advertiser checks indicate modest deceleration in ad budget growth overall. But slowing budget growth for the Facebook app is offset by Instagram, which at this point seems to account for roughly 20% of budgets spent, he notes, adding that this indicates that Instagram revenue growth remains well into the triple digits, albeit coming from a lower base. Ju believes the next tactical catalyst for the shares will be the 2019 guidance for CapEx, which will signal resumption of free cash flow growth. He reiterates an Outperform rating on the shares.

Fly Intel: Today's top analyst calls on Wall Street
Check out today's top analyst calls from around Wall Street, compiled by The Fly. UBS CUTS NETFLIX TO NEUTRAL: UBS analyst Eric Sheridan downgraded Netflix (NFLX) to Neutral while raising his price target for the shares to $425 from $375. The stock has appreciated 35% since the Q1 earnings report and 117% year-to-date, Sheridan told investors in a research note. The analyst said he believes the shares already reflect a 40 times GAAP EBITDA multiple on 2022 estimates. In addition to valuation, Sheridan does not see the "pronounced upside" to Monday's Q2 results relative to prior quarters. B RILEY FBR ALSO CAUTIOUS ON NETFLIX: Searches for new Netflix shows slowed to flattish versus the year-ago period, and year-over-year growth in global searches for the term "Netflix" also slowed somewhat, B. Riley FBR analyst Barton Crockett told investors in a research note. Amid heightened expectations, the analyst finds the flattish search volume as "potentially cautionary." The analyst reiterated a Neutral rating on Netflix with a $313 price target. After the cautious notes, Netflix is down almost 2% in late morning trading. GOLDMAN SACHS RAISES TWITTER TARGET: Goldman Sachs analyst Heath Terry raised his price target on Twitter (TWTR) to $55 and kept his Buy rating, saying that despite the run-up in the stock price year-to-date, consensus expectation on the company continue to underestimate its drive to increase and better monetize user engagement. The analyst contended that despite trading at a higher valuation on enterprise value to expected FY19 EBITDA, its growth rate justifies the premium. BROADCOM DOWNGRADED FOLLOWING CA DEAL: B. Riley FBR analyst Craig Ellis downgraded Broadcom (AVGO) to Neutral and lowered his price target for the shares to $245 from $308 following the company's acquisition of CA Technologies (CA). The deal adds strategic and operational uncertainty, Ellis tells investors in a research note. RBC Capital analyst Amit Daryanani also downgraded Broadcom, to Outperform from Top Pick, and lowered his price target to $300 from $330 after its acquisition of CA Technologies. The analyst noted that the deal places Broadcom "in the penalty box from a valuation expansion perspective", stating that while it offers "strong accretion" and provides a "foundation to perhaps scale its model beyond traditional semiconductor sector", it is also entering a market where it has limited history, likely tempering investor optimism on the stock going forward. Broadcom shares were also downgraded by analysts at Longbow, Macquarie and B. Riley FBR following last night's deal announcement.

Twitter's improvement in AI is 'important', says MKM Partners
MKM Partners analyst Rob Sanderson kept his Buy rating and $43 price target on Twitter, saying that despite the 6% pullback in the stock price this week, suspending accounts of "bad actors" and addressing "rampant bot use on the network" is a positive. The analyst notes that while the information quality efforts have been ongoing for some time, they are now showing positive results, adding the commentary from the company's CFO also suggests "limited impact" to reporting metrics from those measures. Sanderson further states that Twitter's use of Machine Learning and AI are important in making the network content more safe, authentic, and relevant while addressing its perception of being too cluttered and hard to use in the mass market.

Twitter price target raised to $55 from $40 at Goldman Sachs
Goldman Sachs analyst Heath Terry raised his price target on Twitter to $55 and kept his Buy rating, saying that despite the run-up in the stock price year-to-date, consensus expectation on the company continue to underestimate its drive to increase and better monetize user engagement. Terry further notes that the company is also showing significant operating expense leverage, while adding that advertiser checks and 3rd party traffic data checks do not suggest that Twitter's information quality initiative of recent days had much impact on engagement and will actually be "net positive". The analyst contends that despite trading at a higher valuation on enterprise value to expected FY19 EBITDA, its growth rate justifies the premium.

Fly Intel: Today's top analyst calls on Wall Street
Check out today's top analyst calls from around Wall Street, compiled by The Fly. MCDONALD'S CUT TO NEUTRAL: Cleveland Research analyst Steven Gojak downgraded McDonald's (MCD) to Neutral from Buy after his industry checks led him to believe that its comparable sale results in the second half will trend more in-line with consensus expectations. Gojak, who is still modeling Q2 U.S. comp sales growth of 3.7% for McDonald's, which is above the 3.1% consensus growth view, lowered his 2018 U.S. comp estimate to 3.2% from 3.4%, compared to the consensus of 3.1% growth. McDonald's is down 1% in midday trading. NOMURA INITIATES INTERNET SECTOR: Nomura Instinet initiated coverage on the Americas Internet sector. Nomura Instinet initiated Alphabet Class A (GOOGL), Facebook (FB), and Spotify (SPOT) with Buy ratings, and added that Alphabet and Facebook were the best positioned in this newly regulated industry. It initiated Twitter (TWTR) with a Reduce rating, saying that while it is a "stable long-term asset that has something for everyone," the firm believes the market is pricing in "a significant advertising reacceleration that implies a shift in ad spend," while the firm expects "stability instead of a reacceleration of growth." CREDIT SUISSE POSITIVE ON VERIZON, NEGATIVE ON AT&T: Credit Suisse analyst Douglas Mitchelson initiated Verizon (VZ) with an Outperform rating and a price target of $58. The analyst believes Verizon should benefit from its "major $10B cost savings plan, stable capex spending, record low churn, and the benefit of tax reform." Mitchelson also initiated AT&T (T) with an Underperform rating and a price target of $29. Mitchelson said that AT&T will require greater scale and a shift to global direct-to-consumer distribution, stating that the elevated execution risk under its ownership structure and its wireless business look mature with little chance for stabilization in spite of the coming 5G technology. DISNEY VALUATION NOT COMPELLING: Credit Suisse analyst Douglas Mitchelson initiated Disney (DIS) with a Neutral rating and a price target of $114. The analyst noted that the company is "the best positioned traditional media company", but believes the Street has not sufficiently discounted the costs associated with Disney's push into direct-to-consumer streaming services, adding that FY19 will be extra challenging because of high film comps and major theme park project launches.

Alphabet 'fairly valued' ahead of Q2 earnings, says Canaccord
Canaccord analyst Michael Graham said Alphabet is fairly valued ahead of its Q2 earnings report, telling investors in a research note that he believes the company will report "solid" top line performance and is comfortable with his estimate for 26% core Properties revenue growth. He sees core revenue growth staying "comfortable" above 20%, but thinks Alphabet will continue to underperform the FANG complex as gross margin contraction leads to slower EPS growth. With the multiple at a historically "full" level, Graham thinks stock appreciation may be limited. Graham has a Hold rating and $1,050 price target on Alphabet shares.

Alphabet price target raised to $1,350 from $1,250 at Barclays
Barclays analyst Ross Sandler reiterated an Overweight rating and raised his price target to $1,350, telling investors in a research note that he would add to positions into Q2, "full stop." Sandler says the recipe for upside is simple, "beat consensus for sites revenue, TAC and operating margin," and he believes this trifecta may happen in Q2 against a muted sentiment backdrop, causing shares to respond positively. He continues to view the risk/reward as attractive.

Facebook price target raised to $275 from $175 at BTIG
BTIG analyst Richard Greenfield raised his price target on Facebook (FB) to $275 and kept his Buy rating, saying the company's Instagram business is helping to grow its Mobile Time Spent operating metric. The analyst notes that Instagram now has over 1B users pay day with over 400M stories, calling that growth to the size twice as large as Snapchat (SNAP) "stunning". The analyst also states that consumers "simply could not care less" about the company's privacy practices over the past several years in spite of the regulatory scrutiny in that area across multiple countries. Greenfield contends that Facebook's personal content shift "has notably improved the quality" of the core experience on its platform, positioning the company as a "must-have utility to all demographics."

Nomura Instinet initiates coverage on Americas Internet
Nomura Instinet initiated coverage on nine names within the Americas Internet sector. The firm believes, overall, that there is "still some room for growth in digital advertising for the foreseeable future" and believes it will be led primarily by digital video and social, and primarily on mobile devices. The firm added that, as a result of slowing user growth and already high internet penetration, the growth will likely be led by pricing, rather than volume, and the consistent shift away from offline to online media. Nomura Instinet forecast the global digital advertising market "will grow at a 15% five-year CAGR through 2020 as digital ads work toward constituting half of total advertising spend," which the firm expects to occur in 2020. Nomura Instinet initiated Alphabet Class A (GOOGL), Facebook (FB), and Spotify (SPOT) with Buy ratings, and added that Alphabet and Facebook were the best positioned in this newly regulated industry. It initiated Netflix (NFLX), Snap (SNAP), Trade Desk (TTD), Criteo (CRTO), and Pandora (P) with Neutral ratings. It initiated Twitter (TWTR) with a Reduce rating, saying that while it is a "stable long-term asset that has something for everyone," the firm believes the market is pricing in "a significant advertising reacceleration that implies a shift in ad spend," while the firm expects "stability instead of a reacceleration of growth."

Snap's Q2 could be 'choppy,' but upbeat 2H seen, says Barclays
Barclays analyst Ross Sandler maintained an Overweight rating and $16 price target on Snap ahead of the company's Q2 earnings, which could include revenue and DAU in-line to slightly below consensus, he tells investors in a research note. Sandler says he thinks Snap may be "getting out of the woods" in 2H with a new CFO, a new Android stack and lapping the CPM reductions, and says he would add to positions on any weakness related to Q2.
