Calls lead puts 15:1 in SPDR Gold Fund options
Calls lead puts 15:1 in SPDR Gold Fund options. Shares up 41c to $114.73 after falling to new 52-week lows Monday. Oct 124 and 130 calls are most active in the product, with 27.6K and 25.9K traded, respectively. Vertical spreads are responsible for some of the activity and appear to roll long calls from the 130 strike down to the 124 line. Similarly, 15K Sep 130 and 11.5K Sep 132 calls also changed hands. Sep 136 calls, Aug 115 calls, and Sep 117 calls also seeing interest. Total volume is 107K calls and 7K puts. Bullish options flow comes after a rough stretch for gold bugs - although the yellow metal is up modestly today, at $1220 an ounce, December gold is a far cry from the $1138 levels seen just four months ago.
