UBS expects uninspiring Skechers Q3 results, but sees concerns as priced in
UBS analyst Jay Sole believes Skechers' Q3 results and Q4 guidance are likely to be in line. He believes the Street's focus will be on a potential Q3 sales shortfall, which would create a new set of worries causing a P/E contraction. However, he believes some concerns are already priced in and the risk/reward is more balanced. Sole maintained his Buy rating and lowered his price target to $35 from $37 on Skechers shares.

PayPal pullback brings attractive entry point, says Jefferies

Hecht, however, remains favorable on the longer-term story at PayPal and its ability to scale over time. Canadian Pacific price target raised to $255 from $216 at Credit Suisse
Credit Suisse analyst Allison Landry reiterated an Outperform rating on Canadian Pacific and raised her price target to $255 from $216 following the company's investor day on Thursday. In a research note to investors, Landry says Canadian Pacific believes it is time to take PSR "to the next level" and to grow the business, essentially crafting the sames message that investors heard in October 2014, but that with a fully developed sales and market team this time and a full freight cycle under its belt, the message feels "more controlled." The result, Landry says, should be double digit EPS growth CAGR from 2018-2020, and says the acceleration in 2H18 results should carry over into the first part of 2019. Canadian Pacific is setting up to be one of the more attractive stocks to own in transport in 2019, Landry adds.

Citi more selective on Medical Device stocks into Q3 results
Citi analyst Amit Hazan is "much more selective than usual" on Medical Device stocks into the Q3 earnings season. While easier comps should bring "strong and stable" Q3 organic sales growth, recent currency volatility will limit both earnings upside and guidance raises, Hazan tells investors in a research note. He sees only Boston Scientific (BSX) and Intuitive Surgical (ISRG) shares moving higher on earnings reports. The analyst expects volatility in both Becton Dickinson (BDX) and Varian Medical (VAR), but would be an "aggressive" buyer of the stocks on any post-earnings weakness. Hazan is also more cautious on names like Edwards Lifesciences (EW), Baxter (BAX), and Zimmer Biomet (ZBH) into the Q3 prints.

Piper Jaffray analyst Jason Deleeuw raised his price target for Neutral-rated Square 9SQ) to $94 from $67 in a research previewing the Q3 earnings reports for his FinTech coverage universe. Key fundamental factors for the sector remain positive, including ongoing secular growth and macro cyclical strength, Deleeuw tells investors in a research note. Also, the group's fundamentals are relatively insulated from the key macro risks of rising input costs and tariff escalation, the analyst adds. As such, he expects in-line to better than consensus Q3 results and outlooks, which he thinks will help stabilize the relative valuation multiples for the group. Deleeuw's top ideas into the quarter include Black Knight (BKI), Global Payments (GPN), First Data (FDC), Visa (V), Euronet (EEFT) and Alliance Data (ADS). While he's not sure what else E-Trade can do to accelerate net new assets growth, but he expects the board may be receptive to giving management additional time to figure it out. Fly Intel: Today's top analyst calls on Wall Street
Check out today's top analyst calls from around Wall Street, compiled by The Fly. WELLS FARGO UPGRADES TRANSOCEAN TO OUTPERFORM: Wells Fargo analyst Judson Bailey upgraded Transocean (RIG) to Outperform and raised his price target for the shares to $16 from $13. The analyst "significantly" increased his EBITDA and net asset value estimates across the offshore drilling space to reflect increasing demand combined with tightening availability for high spec ultra-deepwater rigs. This is quickly pushing dayrate expectations higher as well as the market value for ultra-deepwater assets, Bailey tells investors. The analyst cites Transocean's deepwater leverage for his upgrade to Outperform. In late morning trading, Transocean was higher by 3.6%. JEFFERIES UPGRADES E-TRADE TO BUY: Jefferies analyst Daniel Fannon upgraded E-Trade (ETFC) to Buy from Hold with an unchanged price target of $65. The stock's current valuation is attractive for the core business while the financial and strategic benefits as a takeout candidate remain intact, Fannon said. His favorite ideas in the group are E-Trade and Charles Schwab (SCHW). In late morning trading, E-Trade was higher by 3.5%. CREDIT SUISSE UPGRADES SUNPOWER: Credit Suisse analyst Michael Weinstein upgraded SunPower (SPWR) to Outperform from Neutral and raised his target price for shares to $10 from $8. Weinstein said the news that its interdigitated back contact solar modules manufactured in Malaysia will be exempted from U.S. import tariffs won't impact 2018 earnings, as the decision doesn't explicitly call out retroactiveness, but sees a benefit to 2019 and 2020 gross profit of $35M-$40M per year vs. prior estimates. In late morning trading, SunPower was higher by 4.7%. MORGAN STANLEY SAYS OIL SERVICES INDUSTRY ATTRACTIVE: Morgan Stanley analyst Connor Lynagh upgraded the oil services, drilling and equipment industry view to attractive, and initiated 14 stocks in the sector, including top Overweight picks Baker Hughes (BHGE), Halliburton (HAL), and Transocean. GUGGENHEIM RAISES NETFLIX PRICE TARGET: Guggenheim analyst Michael Morris raised his price target for Netflix (NFLX) to $420 from $360 and kept a Buy rating on the shares. The analyst believes that Netflix "subscriber penetration will significantly exceed what is implied in the company's current valuation." He thinks the company's Q3 launch of original local-market content in India and upgrades to its user experience will support further upside in the shares.

Green Plains likely to announce more plant sales this month, says Stephens
After Green Plains (GPRE) announced an agreement to sell three ethanol plants to Valero (VLO) and an agreement to acquire storage and transportation assets from Green Plains Partners (GPP), Stephens analyst Farha Aslam said she sees this as the first step in the company's plan to divest non-core assets to reduce debt. She expects an announcement of two to three more plant sales to come later this month, Aslam added. The deal with Valero, which involves about 20% of Green Plains' reported capacity, is anticipated along with the Partners transaction to be 10c dilutive to FY19 EPS, Aslam estimates. She lowered her price target on Green Plains shares to $18 from $20 and keeps an Equal Weight rating on the stock, citing what she views as "challenging" fundamentals in the ethanol industry.

FB Financial guidance may add caution about mortgage heavy banks, says Stephens
Stephens analyst Tyler Stafford noted that FB Financial (FBK) has lowered its mortgage expectations for the second half of the year, which he sees being driven by softer volumes than originally expected coupled with incremental GOS margin pressure. Stafford thinks FB Financial's guidance may make investors incrementally more cautious around other mortgage heavy banks, he tells investors. On a list of banks with the largest GOS mortgage exposures as a percentage of revenue as of Q2 2018, Stafford identifies HomeStreet (HMST), Hilltop Holdings (HTH), Fidelity Southern (LION) and Flagstar Bancorp (FBC) alongside FB Financial.

Bank OZK slower loan growth concerns more than priced in, says Morgan Stanley
Morgan Stanley analyst Ken Zerbe believes that legitimate near-term concerns about Bank OZK around slowing loan growth and pressure on NIM have been exaggerated relative to the company's much stronger-than-peer core fundamentals and long-term prospects. He sees considerable upside to the oversold shares, which he notes are down 21% since the beginning of June. Zerbe maintains an Overweight rating and $52 price target on Bank OZK shares.

Limelight Networks a 'pure play' on OTT video/gaming, says Oppenheimer
Oppenheimer analyst Tim Horan backed an Outperform rating and $6.50 price target on Limelight Networks following the company's "solid" Q2 results, during which it achieved positive earnings for the first time as a public company. In a research note to investors, Horan says Limelight has made "great" progress on product quality, which has enabled it to close the gap on pricing with competitors and drive up margins. He continues to view Limelight as a "pure play" on OTT video/gaming and more edge-based computing.

Amazon unlikely to overly disrupt insurance market, says Keefe Bruyette
Amazon.com's (AMZN) possible entry into homeowners insurance is unlikely to be "overly disruptive" to the industry, Keefe Bruyette analyst Meyer Shields told investors earlier in a research note. The analyst says that in the past, the U.S has been a relatively slow adopter of online insurance offerings. Names in the property and casualty insurance space include AIG (AIG), Allstate (ALL), Chubb (CB), Hartford Financial (HIG), Progressive (PGR) and Travelers (TRV).

Buckingham finds auto insurance placeholder on Amazon site
After an earlier article in "The Information" hinted that Amazon (AMZN) has contemplated offering home insurance in bundles with its smart devices, Buckingham analyst Amit Kumar said that when he went on Amazon's website, he found empty links/placeholders for "Financial Services" and "Auto Insurance," though he added he did not see a placeholder for "Homeowners." In terms of market share, Kumar said Allstate (ALL) is the most exposed to an Amazon entry to home, with 27% of its top line coming from Homeowners. In Personal Auto, Progressive (PGR) and Allstate are exposed with 82% and 68% of their premiums coming from auto insurance, the analyst stated. Other publicly traded companies in the insurance space include ACE Limited (ACE), AIG (AIG), Chubb (CB), Hartford Financial (HIG) and Travelers (TRV).

Bar set low for AIG ahead of earnings, says Morgan Stanley
Morgan Stanley analyst Kai Pan attributes recent weakness in AIG shares to Hurricane Michael and the broader market selloff, exacerbated by concerns on rising bond yields, decelerating P&C pricing, rising loss trends, lingering reserve issues, and year-end tax loss selling. Given underperformance versus peers, he sees the bar being set low for AIG into its Q3 earnings report and believes any emerging trend of P&C underwriting improvement should be well received. Pan maintains an Overweight rating and $65 price target on AIG.
