OPENING THIS WEEKEND: This weekend's biggest new release is horror film "The Possession of Hannah Grace," the latest from Sony (SNE) subsidiary Screen Gems. The film is not expected to be one of the top films of the weekend, and is expected to gross about $3M domestically in 2,065 theaters.
'RALPH,' 'CREED' SET TO REPEAT AT THE TOP: Following its win at the box office last weekend, Disney's (DIS) "Ralph Breaks the Internet," the sequel to 2012 cartoon "Wreck-It Ralph" starring John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman, is expected to once again conquer the box office this weekend, with an expected second weekend drop right around 54%. Meanwhile, MGM's boxing film "Creed II," which took second place during the Thanksgiving Weekend, is anticipated to take the runner-up spot once again, with a drop right around 50%.
ALSO OPENING: Another film set for release this weekend is Warner Bros. Pictures' (T) and Netflix's (NFLX) "Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle," a fantasy adventure film directed by Andy Serkis based on the stories collected in "All the Mowgli Stories" by Rudyard Kipling. The film had its world premiere earlier this week in Mumbai, the first time a Hollywood film premiered in India.
