Vertex Energy reported that President Trump signed H.R. 1733, directing the Secretary of Energy to review and update a report on the energy and environmental benefits of the re-refining of used lubricating oil, as well as submit a plan to Congress for further action. The Secretary of Energy, in cooperation with the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, would need to review and update a federal agency 2006 study as well as submit a new strategy within one year of the enactment date.
