American Airlines lowers FY18 EPS ex-items view to $4.40-$4.60 from $4.50-$5.00
In a regulatory filing, American Airlines said it now expects its Q4 total revenue per available seat mile, or TRASM, to be up approximately 1.5% year-over-year, at the lower end of its previous guidance range of up 1.5% up 3.5%. "This change is due primarily to a lower than anticipated improvement over a strong fourth quarter of 2017 in the domestic market," American stated. The company continues to expect Q4 consolidated CASM excluding fuel and special items to be between down 1.0% to up 1.0% year-over-year. Based on these assumptions, the company now expects to report FY18 EPS of between $2.92-$3.12 and earnings per diluted share, excluding special items, of between $4.40-$4.60. Consensus for FY18 EPS is $4.62.
