Welcome to "Box Office Battle," The Fly's weekly preview projecting what the top films will be at the box office this weekend.
GLASS LOOKING AT BIG OPENING: This holiday weekend, Comcast (CMCSA, CMCSK) subsidiary Universal's thriller "Glass," directed by M. Night Shyamalan and starring Bruce Willis, Samuel L. The film has already brought in $3.7M in Thursday night previews at 3,200 theaters.
THE UPSIDE SURPRISE: Last weekend, STX's comedy "The Upside," starring Bryan Cranston and Kevin Hart, surprised and won the box office battle with a $19.6M domestic opening. The comedy knocked off AT&T (T) subsidiary Warner Bros' "Aquaman," which placed #2 in its fourth weekend with another $17.3M, bringing it over the $1B mark in worldwide ticket sales.
