Wells Fargo downgraded to Neutral from Conviction Buy at Goldman Sachs

Goldman Sachs analyst Richard Ramsden downgraded Wells Fargo to Neutral from Buy and removed the shares from his firm's Americas Conviction List following this morning's Q1 results. The company's operating leverage trends are "impaired," Ramsden tells investors in a research note. Wells closed the trading day down 3%, or $1.25, to $46.49.

Keefe Bruyette analyst Brian Kleinhanzl downgraded Wells Fargo to Market Perform from Outperform and lowered his price target for the shares to $50 from $58. "It's tough to sail a ship without a captain," Kleinhanzl tells investors in a research note following the sudden resignation by CEO Tim Sloan. Shares of Wells Fargo closed Friday down 77c to $48.32.
