U.S. equities are firmer
U.S. equities are firmer as risk-on momentum carried over from abroad. The Dow is 0.6% higher in pre-market futures trading, the S&P 500 is up 0.3% and the NASDAQ has climbed 0.4%, contrasting with yesterday's lack of direction that left the indexes 0.1% lower in regular trading. Market confidence continues to improve on hopes of a U.S.-Sino trade deal and reduced Brexit jitters. European stocks have made modest headway, with the Euro Stoxx 0.3% in the green. In Asia, China's CSI 300 rallied 2.8% and Hong Kong's Hang Seng was up 1.1%. Japan's Nikkei 225 improved 0.2%. Today's earnings calendar features reports from Bank of America, BlackRock, Comerica, CSX, Interactive Brokers, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Netflix, Prologis, and Wipro.
