Alibaba price target raised to $220 from $180 at TH Data Capital
TH Data Capital analyst Tian Hou raised his price target for Alibaba Group to $220 from $180 and maintains a Buy rating on the shares ahead of the company's fiscal Q4 results on May 15. Alibaba's Q4 revenue growth is likely to be better than consensus given its continuing innovations in the marketplace, Hou tells investors in a pre-earnings research note. "Non-stop adoption of innovations in the marketplace keeps the existing business energetic," says the analyst.

Alibaba price target raised to $240 from $210 at KeyBanc
KeyBanc analyst Hans Chung raised his price target for Alibaba to $240 from $210, saying he still sees a meaningful upside to the stock despite a 37% rally year to date, as he believes the company will continue to be a dominant leader and pioneer in e-com 3.0. In the near to mid-term, the analyst expects feed monetization to start in the near future and contribute a meaningful growth. Freshippo's margin could be improved, driven by more stores ramped and matured, he adds. Chung reiterates an Overweight rating on the shares.

The analyst expects decreased competition along with an improved macro environment and yuan appreciation will drive both domestic and outbound travel. Target (TGT) upgraded to Overweight from Equal Weight at Barclays with analyst Matthew McClintock saying Target is taking market share from a "much weaker" retailer subset than other positive traffic retailers. 2. Sprouts Farmers Market (SFM) upgraded to Buy from Hold at Deutsche Bank. 3. American Airlines (AAL) upgraded to Buy from Hold at Deutsche Bank with analyst Michael Linenberg saying American's lowering of its earnings guidance range last week was not unexpected given the recent rise in fuel prices and grounding of its MAX fleet. The analyst thinks the resetting of expectations by management establishes a "floor" for American's share price and provides the company a bit more "cushion" around its earnings targets. 4. Colgate-Palmolive (CL) upgraded to Neutral from Underweight at JPMorgan with analyst Andrea Teixeira saying the company's organic growth is "finally starting to show consistent improvement," despite mixed signals from most recent scanner data in the U.S. 5. Adobe (ADBE) upgraded to Overweight from Equal Weight at Morgan Stanley with analyst Keith Weiss saying his field work, meetings with management and analysis of segment contribution margins have boosted his confidence in Adobe's ability to sustain EPS growth of over 20%, even if he assumes decelerating Digital Media growth. However, while he expects shares to trade "modestly higher" following earnings, he does not see anything within the results or management's commentary capable of triggering a fundamental shift in the currently "decidedly mixed" sentiment on the stock. Wells Fargo downgrades Mylan to Market Perform after 'disappointing' quarter
Wells Fargo analyst David Maris downgraded Mylan to Market Perform from Outperform and lowered his price target for the shares to $22 from $33. The stock closed yesterday down 24%, or $6.73, to $21.53. Mylan reported "disappointing" results which missed consensus on several key metrics including revenue and revenue by segment, Maris tells investors in a research note. The analyst says he's downgrading the shares as Mylan continues to perform below his expectations. Even after yesterday's selloff, Maris believes the risks outweigh the valuation given the earnings uncertainty. Further, the lack of any outcome or major announcement about the strategic review suggests the review is not going to result in any material changes, according to Maris.

Lawsuit against Teva, others to hit generic drug stocks, says Wells Fargo
Wells Fargo analyst David Maris believes the lawsuit by 44 states against 20 generic drugmakers will weigh on generic drug stocks this week and remain an "overhang issue for some time." Actual penalties and damages are impossible to calculate, but could be material, Maris tells investors in a research note. The analyst spoke to the Connecticut attorney general's office this morning and learned they are preparing for trial in these cases. Language the attorney general has used, such as "unprecedented" and his desire to clawback all gains from collusion, should be indicative of the states' intent, Maris writes. He believes that for a sector that is generally highly levered, and with some companies named already facing an overhang from opioid litigation like Teva (TEVA), this is "especially unwelcome news."

JPMorgan downgrades Altaba to Neutral ahead of dissolution
JPMorgan analyst Douglas Anmuth downgraded Altaba (AABA) to Neutral from Overweight and lowered his price target for the shares to $78 from $84. Altaba yesterday announced its board approved plans for a voluntary liquidation and dissolution, with total distributions paid expected between $76.62 and $79.22 per share, which represents ~5-9% upside from current levels, Anmuth tells investors in a research note. The analyst says this is not the tax-efficient outcome he had hoped for. He believes Altaba's ability to execute the most efficient transaction ultimately depended on Alibaba's (BABA) interest and willingness to participate, and "it was clear Alibaba has not shown an interest in repurchasing its shares." His Neutral rating reflects his expectation for a Q4 dissolution.

Altaba exit may weigh on near-term Alibaba sentiment, says Jefferies
Altaba's (AABA) liquidation plan, with includes exiting its 11% stake in Alibaba Group (BABA), may weigh on near-term sentiment for Alibaba's share price, Jefferies analyst Karen Chan tells investors in a researcher note. If its plan is approved by shareholders, Altaba would sell its remaining shares in Alibaba through open market transactions and/or private dispositions, resulting in an expected liquidation distribution of approximately $39.8B-$41.1B in Q4, Chan writes. Altaba intends to sell no more than 50% of its Alibaba shares prior to receiving stockholder approval, the analyst adds. Chan, however, continues to like Alibaba's "resilience and expansion into the Chinese online consumption pocket with high-margin feed monetization lever remaining in place." She believes the company's fundamentals remain intact and keeps a Buy rating on the name with a $200 price target. Alibaba Group is down 2%, or $3.24, to $178.47 in early trading while Altaba is down 1% to $72.98.

He sees the company's FY19 guidance cut being driven by two related issues, namely that PTC has hired less sales capacity than expected in IoT and AR and that it is seeing lower than expected bookings in the "lower-priority, lower-growth" areas of SLM and ALM.
