Treasury Secretary Mnuchin denied over the weekend Bloomberg's reports
Treasury Secretary Mnuchin denied over the weekend Bloomberg's reports on Friday that the administration was looking to restrict China's access to U.S. financial markets, including delisting of mainland stocks on U.S. indices. According to a spokesperson, Mnuchin wrote an email to Bloomberg stating that "the administration is not contemplating blocking Chinese companies from listing shares on U.S. stock exchanges at this time." And White House adviser Peter Navarro just reiterated that message in a CNBC interview. However, neither Mnuchin nor Navarro ruled out potential action in the future, or other possible measures. U.S. equity futures are firmer in early action after late losses on Friday. Chinese equities closed over 0.9% lower today ahead of the 70th anniversary celebrations that will close the markets through next Monday.
