For the week, the Russell 2000 (RUT) touched another new 52-week high,but gave back most of its gains. At time of writing, the index was nearly flat with last Friday's close. At 1635.19, the upside objective for the coming week is at this week's new high of 1654 up to 1670. Support is at 1620-1610. Energy, Health Care, Basic Materials, Consumer Discretionary, and Industrials were the leading sectors on the upside. Only the Utilities are set to end in the red.

The S&P 500 (SPX) advanced to another record life high on solid breadth. At the peak of price before a modest pullback, the index hit 3182.68. For the coming week, that would put the 3185-3200 area into play as a potential upside objective range. Support is at 3150-3140. The best performing sectors for the week were Energy (XLE), Basic Materials (XLB), Technology (XLK), the Industrials (XLI), and the Financials (XLF). The weakest sector was the Utilities (XLU).

For the second week, creations beat redemptions by a factor of 1.8 to 1 among the top twenty by dollar volume ETFs per data from ETF.com. On the creations side the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) and Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) dominated inflows. Combined they were over 46% of creations. S&P 500 funds dominated when summed with the SPY, iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV), Energy (XLE), and Financials (XLF) coming in at over 45% of creations. On the redemptions side there was an offset to the strongly bullish S&P 500 flows with the Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO) seeing a notable outflow of over $1.1B which was over 26% of outflows. The remainder of funds saw smaller scale flows without a strong geographic or asset class skew.
