U.S. equity futures are in the red

U.S. equity futures are in the red following the gains in regular trading yesterday that saw the S&P 500 eliminate losses for the year -- at yesterday's close the S&P 500 was 0.05% higher for the year to date. The NASDAQ expanded its year to date gain to 10.6%, while the Dow narrowed its loss to -3.4%. Given the robust recovery on Wall Street from the panic lows seen in late March, some profit taking is to be expected. The Dow mini is -0.9% weaker, the S&P 500 mini has slipped -0.8% and the NASDAQ has eased -0.4% in pre-market trading. European stocks markets are lower, with the Euro Stoxx off -1.1%, Germany's DAX down -1.5% and France's CAC 40 seeing a -1.2% loss. The UK's FTSE 100 has tumbled -1.6%. Asia's stocks markets were mixed, as Japan's Nikkei 225 slipped -0.4%, but Hong Kong's Hang Seng jumped 1.1% and China's CSI 300 rose 0.6%.
