"Box Office Battle" is The Fly's weekly roundup of what movies topped the weekend's box office.
Legendary and AT&T (T) subsidiary Warner Bros.' "Godzilla vs. Kong" stayed number 1 in its second outing with an estimated $13.4M from 3,084 locations for a domestic cume of $69.5M and a global total of about $360M. The movie is expected to pass up "Tenet" at $365M worldwide sometime this week to rank as the top-grossing during this pandemic.
BOX OFFICE RUNNERS-UP: Comcast (CMCSA) subsidiary Universal's "Nobody" placed number 2, earning another $2.7M in its third weekend for a domestic total of $15.6M and $28.8M globally. Behind it was Screen Gems' "Unholy," which grossed another $2.4M from 1,850 theaters. Disney’s (DIS) "Raya and the Last Dragon" placed number 4 with $2.1M for a domestic cume of $35.2M. The movie is also available on Disney+. Rounding out the top five, Lionsgate (LGF.A) and AGC Studios' "Voyagers" earned an estimated $1.5M in its debut.
