"Box Office Battle" is The Fly's weekly roundup of what movies topped the weekend's box office.
"No Time to Die" won the domestic box office with a $56M debut, the fifth-best domestic opening of the pandemic era. The movie had been pushed back three times due to COVID. "No Time to Die" earned an A- CinemaScore from audiences in North America.
BOX OFFICE RUNNERS-UP: Sony's (SONY) "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" placed number 2 with $32M from 4,225 locations. Behind it was "The Addams Family 2" with another $10M. Disney's (DIS) "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" placed number 4, earning $4.2M from 2,800 theaters. Rounding out the top five, AT&T (T) subsidiary Warner Bros.' "The Many Saints of Newark" grossed an estimated 1.5M for a 10-day cume of $7.4M.
