"Box Office Battle" is The Fly's weekly roundup of what movies topped the weekend's box office.
ViacomCBS (VIAC) subsidiary Paramount Pictures' "Scream" won the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend at the box office with a four-day gross of $34M. For the three-day domestic weekend, the movie earned an estimated $31M from 3,664 locations. Overseas, the slasher pic grossed $18M from 50 markets for a global cume of $52M.
BOX OFFICE RUNNER-UPS: Sony (SONY) and Marvel's "Spider-Man: No Way Home" placed number 2 with another $21M for the three-day weekend and $26M for the four days. Behind it was Comcast (CMCSA) subsidiary Universal's "Sing 2" with $11M for the four-day weekend and $8.3M for the three days. Universal's "The 355" placed number 4 with $2.8M for the four days and $2.3M for the three-day weekend. Rounding out the top five, Disney's (DIS) "The King's Man" grossed a projected $3M for the four-day holiday and $2.3M for the three days.
