The market continues to unwind some of its Fed fears as the weakening in recent data adds to beliefs the FOMC will have to slow its aggressive rate hike path down the road. The Fed minutes confirmed the 50 bp tightening trajectory for June and July, but left the door open for a possible pause subsequently and that is underpinning the curve steepener. Indeed, on Monday Bostic suggested a possible pause to reflect in September. The 2-year yield is about 5 bps richer at 2.442% and the 10-year is about 1 bp lower at 2.740%. The curve has widened out through 29 bps from 24.7 bps yesterday.
