Goldman Sachs analyst…
Goldman Sachs analyst Yaron Kinar raised the firm's price target on Aflac to $47 from $46 but keeps a Sell rating on the shares. The company's Q1 earnings beat was driven by non-recurring favorable impact to the benefit ratio from COVID-related trends, the analyst tells investors in a research note. Kinar adds that his new price target reflects modest increases in out-year net interest income for Japan along with updated Medical sales estimates.

Truist analyst Mark…
Truist analyst Mark Hughes raised the firm's price target on Aflac to $54 from $48 but keeps a Hold rating on the shares. The company reported better than expected Q1 driven by lower U.S. benefit ratio and tax rate, the analyst tells investors in a research note, adding that Aflac continues to generate substantial earnings and cash flow in spite of the COVID impact. Hughes adds however that at its current levels, the stock is "fairly valued".

Aflac initiated with a Neutral at UBS » 16:3804/2004/20/21
UBS analyst Brian…
UBS analyst Brian Meredith initiated coverage of Aflac with a Neutral rating and $55 price target. Within U.S. life insurance, the analyst prefers stocks with "clear paths to portfolio simplification," which he sees as the best strategy to generate value in a "macro-sensitive, capital intensive and highly regulated sector." For Aflac, the analyst sees a transition period and near-term sales headwinds, partially offset by "robust" capital deployment. Meredith sees limited share upside.

Aflac option volume 44x…
Aflac option volume 44x normal after large spread rolls position. Shares of the insurance company are little changed today near $53.54 following a large spread on NYSE-Arca where the May 40/50 risk reversal traded against the August 40/57.5 risk reversal 18900x. Net premium was a debit of $3.64, or $6.8M, which opens a protective collar in August using the 25% downside and 7% upside strikes, while the May 40/50 appears to close a position opened in February in a roll from November when shares were nearly $6 below current levels.

Aflac price target raised to $55 from $51 at JPMorgan » 07:1104/0504/05/21
JPMorgan analyst Jimmy…
JPMorgan analyst Jimmy Bhullar raised the firm's price target on Aflac to $55 from $51 and keeps a Neutral rating on the shares. The analyst's outlook for life insurance stocks is "less upbeat" following the group's "strong recent performance." He expects long-term business fundamentals to "stay lackluster," marked by weak return on equity, modest top-line growth, and "high tail risk." However, the prospect of further increases in interest rates and the government's support of credit are the key factors keeping Bhullar from being more cautious.
