Assicurazioni Generali (ARZGY) is preparing to make a formal bid for MetLife's (MET) European assets after months of talks, Sonia Sirletti of Bloomberg reports, citing people with knowledge of the matter. Generali is targeting to make an offer for most of MetLife's European business by year-end, and a deal could be valued at $3.3B, a source told Bloomberg. Shares of MetLife are up 1% to $49.47 following the report.
