The Wall Street Journal's Nora Naughton wrote earlier that as auto makers shifted in recent years to "higher-priced SUVs and trucks that have surged in popularity with the drop in fuel prices," younger buyers have been priced out. "The financial challenges that young consumers face are multifaceted and well-documented," said Tyson Jominy, vice president of data and analytics for J.D. Power, according to the WSJ story. Jominyalso spoke of the use of ride hailing firms by younger people as a reason for the pressure. Publicly traded companies in the space include Daimler AG (DDAIF), Fiat Chrysler (FCAU), Ford (F), General Motors (GM), Honda (HMC), Nissan (NSANY), Tesla (TSLA), Toyota (TM) and Volkswagen (VWAGY).
