MKM Partners analyst…
MKM Partners analyst Michael Genovese initiated coverage of Cisco Systems with a Buy rating and $61 price target, representing an upside of approximately 20%. The analyst sees a "compelling" risk/reward at current share levels. Cisco has one of the "best-in-class" management teams in the entire networking sector and its operating model is tracking ahead of investor expectations, driven by an acceleration in its transition to a software-based recurring revenue model, Genovese tells investors in a research note. He believes Cisco should see revenue growth ahead of investor expectations through 2022 driven by the macroeconomic recovery post-COVID-19 pandemic.

Cisco to acquire Sedonasys Systems, terms undisclosed » 10:3305/1105/11/21
Cisco's Kevin Wollenweber stated in a post to a company blog: "I am pleased to announce Cisco's intent to acquire Sedonasys Systems Ltd. Sedona Systems' NetFusion is a market leader for its Hierarchical Controller that enables multi-vendor, multi-domain automation, and software-defined networking. HCO is the brain that enables transformation like 5G network slicing, routed optical networking, and disaggregation. The Sedona NetFusion platform is the first to deliver complete network abstraction and control, allowing CSPs to manage their networks across domains, vendors, layers, and a myriad of different technologies, all as one single network. We have one simple goal in our network automation strategy - simplification. With Sedona NetFusion joining the Cisco Crosswork portfolio, we will deliver the most advanced network automation platform for Cisco's Routed Optical Networking Solution to achieve this goal. Now, CSPs can gain real-time, dynamic, and seamless control of IP and optical multi-vendor networks together... Together, Cisco's Crosswork network automation and Sedona's NetFusion unify and modernize optical and IP operations. We are excited to share all the possibilities with Routed Optical Networking, Crosswork, and Sedona to help our customers grow revenue, reduce costs, and mitigate risk." Reference Link

B. Riley says buy NeoPhotonics as 'industry titans clash' » 08:0204/2004/20/21

B. Riley analyst Davig…
B. Riley analyst Davig Kang recommends owning shares of NeoPhotonics (NPTN) as "industry titans" such as Ciena (CIEN) and Cisco Systems (CSCO) clash in the optical metro market. A battle line has been drawn between the incumbent optical system companies such as Ciena and Infinera (INFN) on one side and the router companies such as Cisco, Juniper (JNPR) and Arista (ANET) n the other side with the optical metro segment at stake, Kang tells investors in a research note. Whenever there's a "war," investors should bet on the "arms dealers," which in this case is NeoPhotonics, says the analyst. Kang notes that the company supplies optical products to both sides as well as to hyperscalers directly.
