Craig-Hallum reiterates Buy on Anterix as Evergy reveals plans for 900 MHz » 15:5204/0604/06/21
Craig-Hallum analyst George Sutton notes that in a new FCC filing, Evergy (EVRG) "tipped its hand" and revealed its plans for 900 MHz, making it the most likely candidate for deal number three. The filings indicate that its Land Mobile Radio system is no longer supported and it is now experiencing equipment failures on a weekly basis, which illustrates how critical bringing new broadband systems online are to ongoing operations, says the analyst. Sutton also highlights that in a supporting document, Evergy revealed its previous 900 MHz implementation schedule, which was to begin in 2020 with completion expected in 2022. Evergy signed a frequency exchange agreement with Anterix (ATEX) in May 2020 to expeditiously clear the band, but did not sign a contract at the time, adds the analyst. Sutton reiterates a Buy rating and $100 price target on Anterix shares.
