After Plexus (PLXS) said…
After Plexus (PLXS) said it is likely to miss its June quarter sales and EPS guidance due to new COVID-related work restrictions in Malaysia, Stifel analyst Matthew Sheerin said he expects Plexus to manage through this issue. However, his "greater concern" regards the broader tech supply chain and the likelihood that supply constraints will worsen, said Sheerin. He notes that Plexus derives about 41% of sales from Malaysia, which is much higher than the less than 10% for the remaining three electronics manufacturing services stocks he covers, namely Flex (FLEX), Jabil (JBL) and Celestica (CLS). Sheerin added that Sonos (SONO) is likely to face incremental supply disruptions as a result of elevated Malaysia restrictions given that the company continues to shift manufacturing from China to Malaysia. Sheerin maintains a Hold rating and $98 price target on Plexus shares.

Cross Research analyst Shannon Cross upgraded Flex to Buy from Hold with a $22 price target following the company's "strong" fiscal Q4 results. Flex is well positioned to benefit from margin expansion over time, supported by improving mix and better execution, which should drive earnings growth and multiple expansion, Cross tells investors in a research note. The analyst also believes a Nextracker initial public offering will allow Flex to rollup Nextracker's higher margin revenue while providing investors with "significant visibility" into the asset and the potential to monetize ownership overtime.
