UBS analyst Shneur…

UBS analyst Shneur Gershuni upgraded Genesis Energy to Buy from Neutral with a price target of $8, down from $15. The analyst sees the biggest driver of equity value is the potential for Genesis Energy to reduce its distribution and return to the path of reducing leverage. A distribution cut is a potential positive catalyst, says Gershuni, who notes the company would be free cash flow positive after distributions with an 80% distribution cut and would still yield ~7%.

UBS analyst Shneur…

UBS analyst Shneur Gershuni downgraded Genesis Energy to Neutral from Buy with a price target of $15, down from $21. The analyst cites the company's worse than expected 2020 Soda Ash guidance and warns that it may take up to two years to return to more historical prices, adding that the soft guide stalls Genesis Energy's ability to to address its leverage headwind until 2021.

Reports Q4 revenue…

Reports Q4 revenue $604.33M, consensus $697.5M. Grant Sims, CEO of Genesis Energy, said, "For the quarter, our diversified businesses in total performed slightly better than our expectations, and we ended the year towards the high-end of our revised annual guidance for Adjusted EBITDA. In our offshore pipeline transportation segment, we saw strong volumes across our platforms and pipelines as newer projects continued to ramp and sub-sea tiebacks and infield drilling more than offset any natural decline in our dedicated fields. We continue to actively pursue and contract new developments which can access our existing capacity and represent meaningful margin contribution to us at minimal or no capital, such as BP's Argos platform, coming on in 2021, and Murphy's King's Quay platform, coming on in 2022".

As previously reported,…

As previously reported, Wells Fargo analyst Michael Blum downgraded Genesis Energy to Underweight from Equal Weight with a $21 price target. The analyst cited the partnership's high leverage, and high exposure to offshore Gulf of Mexico. Headline risk around a potential federal ban on offshore drilling could increase in 2020 as several of the Democratic Presidential candidates have stated policies to ban drilling in federal waters, the analyst adds.
