Reports Q1 revenue…
Reports Q1 revenue $43.3M, consensus $41.13M. Greg Daily, Chairman and CEO of i3 Verticals, commented, "We are pleased with our first quarter results. Our execution of our M&A strategy has driven our transformation into a software-led company. Software-related revenues have grown from 12% of our adjusted net revenue in the first quarter of fiscal 2018 to 36% of our adjusted net revenue during the first quarter of fiscal 2021. We are focused on expanding in this area. Our financial results continued to improve, despite the effects of COVID-19 related restrictions that were reinstituted during the holiday season, which slowed the progress of our payment volume recovery during the quarter. Several early 2021 trends will aid the recovery of our business, including a return to in-person schooling, additional financial stimulus and the deployment of vaccines. We are confident in our ability to deliver solid financial results in 2021."

BTIG analyst Mark Palmer…
BTIG analyst Mark Palmer raised the firm's price target on i3 Verticals to $37 from $33 and keeps a Buy rating on the shares. The analyst says the stock "fits the bill" of a potential acquisition target amid increasing deal activity in Integrated Payments space and with vaccine distribution set to lift its hospitality and retail vertical. Palmer adds that the resurgence of the pandemic in the U.S. could create some volatility around IIIV's payment volumes in the coming months, but he sees the near-term risks being outweighed by the upside optionality associated with a recovery in volumes.

Piper Sandler analyst Christopher Donat initiated coverage of i3 Verticals with an Overweight rating and $37 price target. The analyst sees "significant opportunity" for i3 Verticals in the "fragmented" small- to mid-sized business market. Stephens analyst Brett Huff initiated coverage of i3 Verticals with an Overweight rating and $37 price target. Given that 33% of the company's net revenue comes from integrated payments - which are higher-growth, stickier, and have better economics than regular acquiring - he sees the stock as undervalued, Huff said. He also thinks i3 can grow inorganically by acquiring smaller firms, the analyst said.
