Oscar Health initiated with an Overweight at Wells Fargo » 17:3903/2903/29/21
Wells Fargo analyst…
Wells Fargo analyst Stephen Baxter initiated coverage of Oscar Health with an Overweight rating and $37 price target. The company's proprietary technology platform, member engagement and satisfaction, and track record of membership growth are "highly impressive", the analyst tells investors in a research note. Oscar is also in the very early stages of an opportunity to monetize its technology and member experience and generate unregulated fee income from other health plans that lack the scale or technological sophistication to build and implement similar solutions, Baxter adds.

BofA analyst Kevin Fischbeck initiated coverage of Oscar Health with a Buy rating and $39 price target. Oscar Health has good visibility into growing revenues 30%-40%+ per year organically for the next several years, and achieve Insurance segment profitability by 2023, Fischbeck tells investors in a research note. Oscar Health initiated with an Overweight at Morgan Stanley » 08:4703/2903/29/21
Morgan Stanley analyst…
Morgan Stanley analyst Ricky Goldwasser initiated coverage of Oscar Health with an Overweight rating and $44 price target. Oscar's "consumer-centric" software platform has supported growth to $1.6B in healthcare insurance revenues in 2020 and while investors may be hesitant to give the company credit for their technology opportunity and skeptical that Oscar can profitably grow share in the healthcare insurance marketplace, Goldwasser said she is confident that the company can market its software and service offering to regional health plans and achieve high single-digit enterprise margins. Noting that the shares are down about 34% since the March 3 IPO, Goldwasser thinks new deal announcements should increase investor confidence and drive re-rating of the stock's multiple.

Oscar represents an opportunity to buy into a "differentiated offering that is levered to attractive secular themes" in healthcare, Jones tells investors in a research note. The analyst says the company is capable of growing sales at a 40%-plus organic rate. The stock's risk/reward is attractive given the "supportive backdrop" to its core end market and tech platform optionality, says the analyst.
