Sigma Lithium announced an approximate 50% increase of its total estimated mineral resource to 85.7 million tons from previous 58.9 million tons. The company completed an NI 43-101 mineral audit at its Phase 3 NDC deposit of the Project with 26.8 million tons of high grade 1.49% lithium oxide. NDC is an "open pit" deposit located close to the Project's Phase 2 feasibility study stage Barreiro deposit. The Phase 3 mineral resource estimate of 26.8 Mt is comprised of 23.3 Mt of Measured and Indicated mineral resources grading at 1.49% Li2O and 3.5 Mt of Inferred mineral resources grading at 1.48% Li2O. The Phase 3 mineral resource estimate is based on 18,483 m of drilling completed during 4Q21 and 1Q22. Additional drilling is expected to be completed at NDC in 2022 to conclude the pre-feasibility study and pursue the conversion of Measured & Indicated mineral resources into Proven & Probable mineral reserves and further increase the mineral resource estimate. A Phase 3 PEA is expected to be completed during the summer of 2022 to further evaluate the potential for a Phase 3 of production.

BofA initiated coverage of Sigma Lithium with a Buy rating and $14 price target. The junior mining company's plan to commission a significant spodumene concentrate operation in the Minas Gerais state of Brazil could make Sigma the third largest supplier of hard-rock lithium raw materials by the middle of the decade, said the firm, which added that Sigma's assets rank within the top quartile of spodumene projects both operating and in the pipeline. While adding that "there is still work to be done," assuming a successful build-out BofA thinks Sigma would be in "a prime position to service the growing demand for lithium chemistries."

Sigma Lithium Corporation announced that it has commenced construction on site to build the foundation and infrastructure installation of its greentech dense media separation production plant, at its wholly owned Grota do Cirilo Project. The Company is also announcing that it has secured 38 critical long lead items required for the Project and begun ordering them from respective suppliers, placing deposits to secure manufacturing timetables. Prices and FEL-3 quotes for these long lead items have been in line with the FEL-2 capex estimates in the feasibility study included in the Company's most recently filed technical report. Completion of this stage of the construction civil works is expected within three months, when the Brazilian sub-construction firm of Promon Engenharia is expected to complete earthworks and the concrete plant drainage channels. This stage follows the successful conclusion last month of mobilization to site of approximately 180 workers and construction equipment. In order to fund construction, the Company has the funds to meet the equity funding requirements under its proposed construction bank debt facility. The Company signed term sheets for debt and project finance with BDMG, the development bank of the Minas Gerais State and a commercial bank. It The closing of these debt transactions is pending the completion of customary due diligence and definitive documentation.
