Stocks open higher in broad advance

Stock futures were strong throughout the early session as tax reform plans move closer to being enacted, with expectations for a vote this week and possibly as early as tomorrow. The early move is broad-based, with each of the major averages higher by 0.6% or more. Oil prices are also higher and moving closer to the $58 a barrel level. Next up, investors will be watching the housing market index at 10:00 am ET, with expectations for a reading of 70.
