Turkey tariffs push futures lower

Stock futures are pointing to a lower open as investors react to Turkey's implementation of taxes on American goods from cars to tobacco. The domestic economic calendar has several data points scheduled for release including the Empire manufacturing report, nonfarm productivity, advance retail sales, industrial production, the NAHB housing market index, and the weekly DOE oil inventory data. Oil prices are lower by more than 1% following last night's API inventory report with a barrel of crude trading just above $66. In early pre-market trading, Dow futures are 134 points below fair value, Nasdaq futures are 49 points below fair value and S&P futures are 14 points below fair value.
