Stock futures were strong during the early session, leading to a higher open. The early economic reports, which included industrial production and capacity utilization, had little effect on the market as investors appear to be more focused on the potential that trade talks with China will be warming up. Although Treasury officials denied yesterday's report that the White House was considering relaxing tariffs to force a breakthrough in negotiations, investors are rushing in to buy stocks. The early lift has pulled the Dow out of the correction level that occurred last month when the market sold off. In early trading, the S&P is up 18 points, the Dow is up 156 points and the Nasdaq is up 35 points.
