Mixed economic numbers lead to lower open

Stock futures drifted lower during the early session following the release of mixed economic data. The weekly jobless claims data showed the job market is still strong, but the durable goods orders fell short of expectations. The futures action has led to modest losses at the open as U.S. trade talks with China get set to resume. Oil prices are also beginning the day slightly lower, but investors will be waiting on the energy inventory reports due out later this morning. In early trading, the S&P is down 7 points, the Dow is down 55 points and the Nasdaq is down 15 points.
