Dollar volume among the top twenty ETFs totaled over $23B. On the redemptions side, the skew was heavily toward index ETF products. The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) and Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) accounted for over 45% of outflows. The iShares Short Treasury Bond ETF (SHV) also saw a large draw as did the Large Cap Growth Index-Linked ETN (FRLG) and iShares MSCI EAFE ETF (EFA). On the creations side, the skew was heavily toward bond funds of all varieties, summing to over 72% of inflows. The biggest flows went to the iShares iBoxx USD Investment Grade Corporate Bond ETF (LQD), iShares iBoxx USD High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (HYG), iShares Core U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF (AGG), and Vanguard Total Bond Market ETF (BND). Those four funds were over 57% of inflows. |
