On The Fly: ETF fund flow highlights

For the week creations bested redemptions by a factor of more than 1.3 to 1 per data from ETF.com. On the creations side index ETFs drew the largest flows. The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) constituted over 38% of inflows. The Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (VTI) summed to nearly 15% of creations and the JPMorgan BetaBuilders U.S. Mid Cap Equity ETF (BBMC) was over 10% of flows. On the redemptions side the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) was over 28% of outflows. The First Trust Capital Strength ETF (FTCS) which has rarely appeared in the top ten summed to over 21% of redemptions. The iShares Russell 2000 ETF (IWM) was over 12% of outflows.
