Marvell near deal to acquire Inphi for about $10B, WSJ reports

Marvell Technology Group (MRVL) is nearing a deal to buy Inphi (IPHI) for as much as $10B and a deal could be announced as soon as Thursday, Cara Lombardo and Dana Cimilluca of Wall Street Journal report, citing people familiar with the matter. Buying Inphi would help Marvell expand its reach in networking, Lombardo and Cimilluca points out. Marvel will pay 60% of the acquisition in stock with the rest in cash, Liana Baker and Ian King of Bloomberg reported following the Journal's story. Shares of Inphi are up 36%, or $40.04, to $151.01 in premarket trading. Marvell is down 5%, or $1.86, to $37.67. Reference Link
