2021-04-16 14:59:59 | On The Fly: ETF fund flow highlightsFor the week dollar volume slowed considerably in the top twenty funds, with creations exceeding redemptions by a factor of 1.78 to 1 per data from ETF.com. The skew in creations saw over 66% of flows into the top five names. Those funds were the Xtrackers USD High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (HYLB), Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (VTI), BlackRock U.S. Carbon Transition Readiness ETF (LCTU), Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO), and the iShares iBoxx USD Investment Grade Corporate Bond ETF (LQD). On the redemptions side the skew was very slight among the top ten funds with the emphasis on index products. The iShares Russell 2000 ETF (IWM) was the largest single outflow. Over 26% of outflows were from Nasdaq 100 products which included the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) and ProShares UltraPro QQQ (TQQQ). Nearly 16% of outflows were from the iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) and Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF). The SPDR Bloomberg Barclays High Yield Bond ETF (JNK) also saw a notable outflow. |
