Sanderson Farms jumps after WSJ says exploring sale

Shares of Sanderson Farms (SAFM) are up 7% to $178 in after-hours trading after the Wall Street Journal reported that the company hired Centerview Partners to explore a potential sale and has attracted interest from suitors including agricultural investment firm Continental Grain Co. Other publicly traded companies in the meat space include Hormel Foods (HRL), Pilgrim's Pride (PPC) and Tyson Foods (TSN).
