Welcome to "Box Office Battle," The Fly's weekly preview projecting what the top films will be at the box office this weekend.
OPENING THIS WEEKEND: Kicking off the first weekend of November are new wide releases "Bohemian Rhapsody" from 21st Century Fox (FOX, FOXA) and "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms" from Disney (DIS). Musical biopic "Bohemian Rhapsody," directed by Bryan Singer and starring Rami Malek as Queen singer Freddie Mercury, is expected to take the top spot with an opening weekend of $35M-$38M at 4,000 theaters. The ballet adaptation "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms," starring Keira Knightley, Morgan Freeman, and Helen Mirren, is expected to take second place with an opening of around $20M at 3,766 theaters.
HALLOWEEN STILL HANGING AROUND: Comcast (CMCSA, CMCSK) subsidiary Universal and Blumhouse's "Halloween," starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, and Will Patton, is now in its third weekend at theaters. It is now on the wrong side of the holiday it is named after, but is expected to earn an additional $15M this weekend and become the fourth largest R-rated horror film of all-time.
ALSO OPENING: Viacom (VIA, VIAB) subsidiary Paramount's is releasing Tyler Perry's "Nobody's Fool," starring Tiffany Haddish, Tika Sumpter, and Whoopi Goldberg, this weekend. The comedy is expected to earn around $14M at 2,468 locations, potentially challenging "Halloween" for third place at the box office.

1. Bohemian Rhapsody: $35M-$38M
2. The Nutcracker and the Four Realms: ~$20M
3. Halloween: ~$15M
4. Nobody's Fool: $14M-$15M
5. A Star is Born: $9M-$10M
