The major release opening this weekend is Warner Bros. Pictures' (T) "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald," a spinoff of the hit fantasy series "Harry Potter" which is expected to win the weekend at the box office with a domestic gross of $65M-$68M.
Also out this weekend is Paramount's (VIAB) family comedy "Instant Family," which is seen to take fourth place in its debut weekend and gross $10M-$21M. Additionally, Fox's (FOX) heist drama "Widows" is rolling out this weekend and is expected to round out the weekend with a gross of $12M-$18M.
Meanwhile, Universal Pictures' (CMCSA) animated Christmas film "The Grinch," which took the top spot at the box office last weekend, is expected to come in second this weekend with a domestic gross of about $38.5M, while Fox's Queen biopic "Bohemian Rhapsody," which came in second last weekend, is seen to take third place this weekend with a domestic gross of $18.5M.
Other publicly traded companies in filmmaking include Disney (DIS), Sony (SNE), and Lionsgate (LGF.A).
