- Gilead (GILD) up 8% after the company announced that it is "aware of positive data emerging from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases' study of the investigational antiviral remdesivir for the treatment of COVID-19." The trial has met its primary endpoint and the NIAID will provide detailed information at an upcoming briefing, Gilead added.
- Chimerix (CMRX) up 28% after announcing that that the company has received clearance from the FDA for a rolling submission of its new drug application, or NDA, for the approval of brincidofovir as a medical countermeasure for smallpox
