ViacomCBS (VIAC) subsidiary Paramount's "A Quiet Place II" won this weekend's box office with a surprising $11.7M for a domestic total of about $109M. The horror movie is the first in the pandemic era to cross the $100M mark domestically.
BOX OFFICE RUNNERS-UP: AT&T (T) subsidiary Warner Bros.' "In the Heights" place number 2 with a $11.4M debut. The tittle also debuted on HBO Max. Behind it was Sony's (SONY) "Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway," which earned an estimated $10.4M in its debut weekend. New Line and AT&T subsidiary Warner Bros.' "The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It" place number 4 with $10M from 3,237 locations. Rounding out the top five, Disney's (DIS) "Cruella" grossed an estimated $6.7M.
