"Box Office Battle" is The Fly's weekly roundup of what movies topped the weekend's box office.
Comcast (CMCSA) subsidiary Universal's "Old" won this weekend's domestic box office, taking in $16.5M from 3,555 locations. M. Night Shyamalan's psychological thriller was inspired by the graphic novel Sandcastle. The movie debut to $6.5M internationally from 23 markets for a global total of $23M.
BOX OFFICE RUNNERS-UP: ViacomCBS (VIAC) subsidiary Paramount's "Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins" placed number 2 with a $13.4M debut. Behind it was Disney's (DIS) "Black Widow" with an estimated $11.6M from 4,250 theaters. AT&T (T) subsidiary Warner Bros.' "Space Jam: A New Legacy" placed number 4, earning another $9.6M. Rounding out the top five, Comcast subsidiary Universal's "F9: The Fast Saga" grossed an estimated $4.7M.
