Citi analyst Michael Rollins lowered the firm's price target on Dish to $34 from $46 and keeps a Buy rating on the shares post the Q1 results. The analyst cites a higher cost of capital and an update to his spectrum valuation method for the target cut, which now applies the remaining network-build costs as an eventual sunk-cost in spectrum valuation scenarios. However, he believes Dish retains the opportunities to operationalize its ongoing 5G network build, retain value for its spectrum portfolio, and improve value for its video business by pursuing a strategic merger with DirecTV or an alternative live streaming provider.

EA (EA) recently pursued a merger with NBCUniversal (CMCSA) and also held potential acquisition talks with Disney (DIS), Apple (AAPL), and other companies, Ethan Gach of Kotaku reports, citing a news report by Puck. While these deals are not currently in the works, it appears that EA will continue working on these plans. "Several sources familiar with these talks say EA has been persistent in pursuing a sale, and has only grown more emboldened in the wake of the Microsoft (MSFT) - Activision (ATVI) deal. Others say that EA is primarily interested in a merger arrangement that would allow Wilson to remain as chief executive of the combined company," wrote Dylan Beyers of Puck, according to Kotaku. Reportedly, the deal with NBCUniversal got the furthest along, but fell apart due to price, Beyers reported, according to Kotaku. "We don't comment on rumors and speculation relating to M&A," EA spokesperson John Reseburg told Kotaku in a statement. "We are proud to be operating from a position of strength and growth, with a portfolio of amazing games, built around powerful IP, made by incredibly talented teams, and a network of more than half a billion players."
