Boeing announced that its board of directors has extended the company's age-65 standard retirement to age 70 for President and Chief Executive Officer David Calhoun, who has served as Boeing's President and CEO since Jan. 13, 2020. "While the Board's action extends the mandatory retirement age for Mr. Calhoun to April 1, 2028, there is no fixed term associated with his employment," the company stated. Boeing also announced that Executive Vice President, Enterprise Operations and Chief Financial Officer Gregory Smith has decided to retire from the company, effective July 9, 2021. Boeing is conducting a search for Smith's successor, the company stated. Boeing Chairman Larry Kellner said, "Under Dave's strong leadership, Boeing has effectively navigated one of the most challenging and complex periods in its long history... And, in the face of unprecedented challenges brought on by the global pandemic, he has taken proactive actions to ensure Boeing remains strongly positioned for the recovery in the aviation industry. Given the substantial progress Boeing has made under Dave's leadership, as well as the continuity necessary to thrive in our long-cycle industry, the Board has determined that it is in the best interests of the company and its stakeholders to allow the Board and Dave the flexibility for him to continue in his role beyond the company's standard retirement age."

Sempra Energy (SRE) upgraded to Buy from Neutral at Mizuho with analyst Anthony Crowdell saying Sempra sold down 20% of Sempra Infrastructure Partners for an "attractive" 13.4 times multiple. 2. Albemarle (ALB) upgraded to Outperform from In Line at Evercore ISI with analyst Stephen Richardson saying after reaching a bottom in the second half of 2020, lithium pricing has continued to move higher led by battery grade carbonate as inventories in the supply chain work down. 3. Textron (TXT) upgraded to Outperform from Neutral at Credit Suisse with analyst Robert Spingarn saying he is more positive on the company's business jet segment exiting the pandemic, particularly the light and mid-sized jet segments where Textron concentrates. 4. Baker Hughes (BKR) upgraded to Outperform from Market Perform at BMO Capital with analyst Philip Jungwirth saying Baker shares have materially lagged Schlumberger (SLB) and Halliburton (HAL) with the recovery in oil prices and upstream spending, creating an attractive entry point. 5. Livent (LTHM) upgraded to Outperform from In Line at Evercore ISI with analyst Stephen Richardson saying while first half of 2021 pricing trends are expected to be challenging for lithium producers that are largely contracted, the movement of spot indices above indicative contract prices is a key catalyst for the stock.
