First Analysis analyst Frank Sparacino downgraded Tableau Software (DATA) to Neutral from Outperform citing the "high probability" of the Salesforce (CRM) buyout closing. Further, the analyst maintains a Neutral rating on MicroStrategy (MSTR). He does not see the company taking part in any future consolidation as an acquirer or target. Further, any potential benefit to ongoing sales cycles from takeover disruption with Tableau and Looker is likely to be minor, Sparacino tells investors in a research note.

Jefferies analyst John DiFucci conducted a Salesforce partner survey to assess the impact of a major platform outage that began May 17. The survey suggests broad-based customer impact, including on current buying decisions, which may affect the company's fiscal Q2, DiFucci tells investors in a research note. The analyst, however, believe current consensus estimates seem conservative. Further, DiFucci believes Salesforce's pipeline "remains robust" and that it is well positioned to achieve its long-term goals. The analyst keeps a Buy rating on the shares with a $189 price target.
