Reuters yesterday reported that WillScot has made an offer to acquire Mobile Mini (MINI), the largest portable storage provider, funded largely through equity with a modest premium, Jefferies analyst Philip Ng tells investors in a research note. While a deal of this size is not without risk, the reported structure "looks compelling" since it is neutral to WillScot's balance sheet and increases the liquidity in the stock, contends the analyst. Further, he believes portable storage is a natural adjacent market that should yield material synergies and be value enhancing. Ng, who believes such an acquisition could yield "meaningful" cost synergies from branch rationalization and combining salesforces, keeps a Buy rating on WillScot with a $20 price target.
