Stifel analyst Patrick Newton noted that VCSEL enabled applications were "front and center" during Apple's (AAPL) iPhone X launch event. While there was no explicit mention that there are two VCSEL arrays in the front-facing camera, he remains confident this is the case, adding that the later than expected November 3 shipment date should not materially impact Lumentum's ability to meet its target of over $200M in VCSEL orders in 2017. Newton, who continues to model 80% share for Lumentum's in the initial VCSEL ramp, keeps a Buy rating on the stock.
