"Box Office Battle" is The Fly's weekly roundup of what movies topped the weekend's box office.
Cineverse and Icon Events' "Terrifier 3" won this weekend at the North American box office with an $18.2M debut from 1,922 theaters. The threequel had a larger budget than its predecessor, which was on a $250,000 budget and grossed an astounding $15.7M.
Donald Trump feature "The Apprentice" — which the former President had tried to block from appearing in theaters — placed number 10 with an $1.6M debut.
BOX OFFICE RUNNER-UPS: DreamWorks Animation and Comcast (CMCSA) subsidiary Universal's "The Wild Robot" stayed at number 2 with another $13.4M in its third weekend for a domestic total of $83.7M. Behind it was Todd Phillips sequel "Joker: Folie a Deux" with $7.054M as it suffered the worst decline in history for a comic book movie. Warner Bros.' (WBD) "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" placed number 4 with $7.05M as it crossed the $275M mark domestically. Rounding out the top five, "Piece by Piece" grossed an estimated $3.8M in its first outing.
