"Box Office Battle" is The Fly's weekly roundup of what movies topped the weekend's box office.
Lionsgate's (LGF.A) "Angel has Fallen" won the long Labor Day weekend with an estimated $14.8M for the four-day holiday, in its second outing. The movie is expected to finish Monday with a 10-day domestic cume of $44M. "Angel has Fallen" received an A- CinemaScore and 40% on Rotten Tomatoes.
BOX OFFICE RUNNERS-UP: Comcast (CMCSA) subsidiary Universal's "Good Boys" came in second with an estimated $12.1M for the four days for a domestic cume of $58.8M. Behind it was Disney's (DIS) "The Lion King," earning $9.3M over Labor Day weekend for a domestic cume of $523.5M. Comcast subsidiary Universal's "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw" placed number four with $8.2M, as it hit $684.2M globally. Rounding out the top five, "Overcomer" from Sony's (SNE) Affirm films grossed an estimated $7.8M.
