"Box Office Battle" is The Fly's weekly roundup of what movies topped the weekend's box office.
Warner Bros. (WBD) and Legendary's "Dune: Part Two" won this weekend at the North American box office with a $81.5M debut, making it the biggest opening of the year to date. Overseas, the movie opened to $97M for a global cume of $178.5M. "Dune 2" sports an A CinemaScore.
BOX OFFICE RUNNER-UPS: Paramount's (PARA) "Bob Marley: One Love" placed number two with another $7.4M for a domestic tally of $82.2M. Behind it was Lionsgate (LGF.B) "Ordinary Angels" with $3.8M for a 10-day domestic cume of $12.6M. Sony's (SONY) "Madame Web" placed number four with just $3.2M from 3,116 locations. Rounding out the top five, "The Chosen: S4 Episodes 7-8" grossed almost $3.2M as Fathom previews the season in theaters before airing in the home.
